Work Continues!

OK let’s pick up where we left off. Sorry about the posting delay it’s been a very busy week for me.

- Jan 27- Jan 28- Yay for snow and ice and more snow!



If you look closely you can see that my car window is down but the ice is still there. SWEET!



So I left my car running to melt the ice and started staining the shelves.

- Jan 28 - Andy McGinn from the Springfield News-Sun came by to talk to me. We will be featured in his column on Thurs. Feb 6, check it out. At the end of the interview I asked Andy a few questions about his collecting habits, and he quickly corrected me that he’s a comic reader not a collector. Andy said he began reading comics at around age 12 and was “hardcore” til about 8th grade when comics and cool were no longer compatible. He was drawn in by the artwork and still prefers the glory days of Jack Kirby over todays artists. He does collect movie posters and stays current in reading Marvel’s Thor and Captain America titles. Captain America is his all time favorite, saying “There’s just something about it.”. I asked Andy if he was going to buy his comics here at Main Street and he replied that he only lives a couple of blocks from our shop and reserved his copies of Thor and the Cap. Thanks Andy. And thanks again for your time! Andy wanted to add that as a News-Sun reporter who often writes about comics, it would be nice for people to be able to go to a local shop and check out the comics or graphic novels that he writes about in his column.

- Jan 30- Jan 31- Friday and Saturday + crappy weather + tax checks + Superbowl weekend = crazy days in the pizza biz. Didn’t get much done at the shop except putting out more buckets to try and stave off the flood from the roof. Set appointment for the phone to be turned on Tuesday.

- Feb 1- Ahh day off. Heading up to the shop in a bit to begin clear cloating the shelves. Our first comics start coming in THIS Wednesday! SAWEEET!!
